Colonizing Cyan may be Earth’s
last hope for survival..
It took Earth’s last, dying effort, led by Keir Delacroix of the original explorers, to plant a colony on Cyan. Now the new colonists are uneasy in their seasonless paradise. Will destruction come upon them from a renegade explorer and her DNA modified creatures of the torrid zone, or from Saloman Curran, the man whose heartless manipulations brought them here? Or will it come from their own inability to adapt to their new home?
About the Author:
Syd Logsdon escaped an Oklahoma farm into science fiction, then escaped to Michigan State, the Navy, and the University of Chicago. He became addicted to writing novels, which led to a decade of full time writing and part time starvation, with a second MA in History thrown in. Next came thirty years of part time writing and full time teaching of middle school science. His first publication was in the last issue of Galaxy. He is the author of Jandrax and A Fond Farewell to Dying. The latter also appeared in German translation. [MORE]

A reading from CYAN by the author, Syd Logsdon
"This book is a realistic treatment of the challenges of time dilation with near-lightspeed travel and group dynamics during long trips. I enjoyed the realistic depiction of exploration of an unfamiliar landscape and attempts to establish a foothold in a habitable but hostile environment." - Elizabeth Ann Shaw
"This storyline contains an interesting and likable main character. The new world is also interesting with a semi-intelligent alien species. The fate of earth is plausible. The main protagonist is believable and gets his due." - KSRTEXAS
